Pink is a powerful color. At least, thanks to Susan G. Komen it is. The color has become synonymous with Breast Cancer awareness, a cause that has become more and more prevalent in pop culture especially in the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness month. From pro athletes to local businesses, pink has certainly permeated the general public. And Boundless is no exception.
This past Sunday, November 15, Boundless team members participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure here in Austin. The Komen Austin Race for the Cure is a fall tradition that brings the community together to save lives locally and fight breast cancer globally. This year the race hosted over 8,500 participants hailing from five different counties in the Austin area and raised over $340K to support breast cancer research and provide health services.
Year-round, Boundless encourages employees to get involved in community events and fundraisers, and sponsored every participants’ entry fee for the Race for the Cure event. Although somewhat overcast (and very early) the team spirit shined, and everyone stayed energized for the duration of the race. I have to admit, having great Austin musicians playing and a range of unrelenting cheerleaders (and even an Elvis impersonator) along the way surely helped keep our motivation high.
In addition to our company’s strong community involvement and support of this important cause, some of our staff members have personal ties to Race for the Cure that inspired them to participate this year.

And it just wouldn’t be fair not to highlight our fearless leader (and cheerleader) Henrik Johansson, who ran with his daughter, Chloe, in Sunday’s Race for the Cure even though most of the staff took the walking route. We can always count on our CEO to approach these community events with passion, energy, and tasteful humor.
We are grateful to the senior leadership at Boundless for driving our organization’s important community involvement, and hope that with each passing event our team can continue to make a real impact on the quality of life in our community and across the country.
